Why has the world gone mad? Russia & USA start a war and it seems that it all about the dictators in those countries without any thoughts or regards for the people they are supposed to represent. Masses of innocent people killed because of Putin, Trump and Netanyahu. The politics in this country is in a mess but it could be worse. Lets pray that Farage never gets in power

Today i`m going to meet up with my two brothers to play snooker. Not as energetic as running, tennis or badminton, but boy do we have a laugh. Besides, we do make the people on the next table feel really good.

The world is a mess. We have three people who are more interested in their own perceived legacy, rather than the wellbeing of the people they are supposed to represent. Putin, Trump and Netanyahu. How many innocent people have they been responsible for murdering? They don`t care, lives mean nothing to them.

It started with a day out with grandchildren to Weston - super - Mare. The youngest, who was ten year old mentioned that he had asked the girl he was with to marry him as they walked along the pier. Later he told us that she was the third girl he had proposed to. Somehow, the story just stuck with me and encouraged the beginning of my novel Trials of Love. You could say its all his fault! By the way M was the first grandchild to marry aged twenty one.

Sometimes you stare at the computer , your fingers eager to start working, but your brain isn`t. You feel lost, useless, should be put in the bin. Then the juices start to flow, your fingers struggle to keep up with the way your imagination is desperate to unfold as you bash away at the keyboard. Then there is the odd occasion when you read something you wrote some time ago, and you think wow! Did I write that. What a topsy turvy hobby, recreation or more.

Apart from writing and reading and playing bridge, what else do i do. Well at seventy six I am so lucky to be fairly fit. I go running out into the countryside, eight miles twice a week. I play tennis, doubles, twice a week. I play badminton once a week. How lucky is that?

Reading and writing is one of the very few things you can do from childhood through to senior age. I can remember enjoying the Dandy comic that stirred the imagination and brought the characters to life. My namesake Dennis the Menace was always getting into trouble and I`ve had to live with that association all my life! Then I moved on to the Agatha Christie `whodunits' with Hercule Poirot leading the way and uncovering all sort of dastardly crimes. Then, during college I b
